Did you read What a way to go yet? It's one of my favorites.

I am listening to RHCP for the first time in a long time (the length of time is a relative concept my friends). And I am sitting here at Reverie Café with a smile on my face even though I am reading frustratingly simplistic or undeveloped analyses of literature about life in apartheid era South Africa. I am in love with RHCP – I have no contact with them for a while; I get disappointed in them sometimes, sometimes I get in a codependent relationship with them that is intense and consuming. But my love remains strong no matter how much I have changed since high school and Blood, Sugar, Sex, Magic. They still tear at my heart and move me on such a deep level one does not expect from a bunch of former drug addict party boys who may seem to lack intellectual depth.

I may actually get to see them today at the We the Planet benefit; I hear the RHCP may make a surprise appearance.

Do me a favor and listen to Tear, which gets me all teary-eyed every time.
